This is a difficult time for all of us in Manatee County - kids, essential workers, retirees, business owners healthcare professionals, teachers, first responders, and more. One way we can help each other is to support local and small businesses. Here are a few favorites submitted by our members.
This is about community, not partisan politics. These are personal recommendations from Manatee Dems, and we have not required Democratic support from any of these businesses. If you would like to recommend a local business, please send a note to Robin Sathan at email@example.com .
I recently ordered an organic produce box from Gamble Creek Farm and have been enjoying the contents all week. This week’s box, had Kirby cucumbers, baby red lettuce, purple Daikon radish, fennel, Asian spinach, baby eggplant and squash among other things. You can also order other produce and pickled items. Order and pay for the Produce Box online, take a drive out to Parrish on Monday or Thursday and follow the signs. Give them your name at the drive-up table and your fresh produce box is loaded into your car. It couldn’t be any easier or more delicious. - Robin Sathan
Our family has come across a truly delicious dinner option for those nights that I just don’t feel like cooking. Casa Di Pizza has fresh, home cooked pizzas that my kids choose, hands down. I appreciate they have a gluten-free pizza option that is also delicious, as well as a weight watchers dinner option, and other yummy Italian favorites.
Casa Di Pizza has also lent a hand to our community by supporting school and other community events throughout Bradenton. Kevin and his staff are super friendly and they even have a contact-free delivery option. - Chrissy Fairey
Mary & Matt Baehr, owners of Big Frog Bradenton, are excited to be opening their store again with social distancing best practices. Big Frog Bradenton makes a wide variety of custom items - tees, corporate apparel, hats and more with creative ways to bring visions to life.
Matt and Mary are very dedicated to the community and giving back to others. I'd love to have candidates and others support them during this difficult time. - Sarah Taylor
Grocery and convenience store at 720 Martin Luther King Avenue.
This family owned business has been serving the community well for many years. They are very supportive of voter registration, too! - Susie Copeland
