Choose Your Voter Registration Volunteer Times and Locations

The push is on to find and register the thousands of people in Manatee County (many of them Democrats) who are eligible to vote but not registered. The Florida Democratic Party has pledged $2 million to register 200,000 voters ahead of the 2020 primary and predicts that 500,000 more registered Democrats are needed for the presidential election to turn the state blue. Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, who lost by only about 32,000 votes, has launched a huge voter registration campaign.  The road to the White House runs straight through Florida.

The Manatee County Democratic Party has several on-going voter registration initiatives. Please get involved and do whatever you can.

July 11 - Training to Register Returning Citizens

The Manatee County Democratic Black Caucus (contact Florence Shelton-Clark) is leading this effort and is partnering with the Manatee Democratic Club (contact Paul Dain) and other Democratic clubs/caucuses that wish to participate.

The meeting is specifically for volunteers who will work in pairs or groups of three and will be canvassing at the addresses we have for returning citizens.   The purpose of the meeting is to assign addresses and provide the necessary instructions and explanations for doing the voter registration.  The Manatee Supervisor of Elections has indicated readiness to continue to register returning citizens regardless of the recently signed law that unfairly restricts the intent of Amendment 4.  This new law is currently being challenged in court and we hope it will be overturned.

Thursday, July 11, 6:00-7:00 pm at Manatee County Democratic headquarters, 435 Cortez Road West.  Contact Paul Dain,

If you wish to assist in registering returning citizens but will be unable to canvass, please also reply to Paul Dain and indicate your willingness to register people at various public and commercial locations.

July 14, Voter Registration Training

This is a voter registration training and monthly Precinct Captains meeting open to all.  Ella Coffee, our District 2 rep from the Florida Democratic Party, will provide training and speak about FDP's voter registration grant program.  Come meet Ella - we are excited about her leadership in our area of the state.

Sunday, July 14, 2:00 pm at Manatee County Democratic headquarters, 435 Cortez Road West.  Contact Randi Sathan,
