What is a Poll Greeter?
Poll Greeters are the people outside the polling places, talking to voters, answering questions, and providing literature and candidate information voters hopefully find relevant. The Poll Greeter is the last interaction the voter has before they actually cast their ballot.
Being at early voting is important:
We need to let people know that the Democratic Party has a presence in Manatee County. We constantly struggle to get outside our own bubble. Here is an opportunity to reach out to people we have never spoken with before. This is a chance to recruit new Party volunteers, to grow our contact list and to enlist campaign and voter protection volunteers for the upcoming general election.
Find Your Vote Squad
Perhaps the best thing about poll greeting is that it is fun. Those who have participated in the past always look forward to doing it again. The voters are actually in the mood to talk politics. You never know which candidates are going to show up at your booth. You get to meet volunteers you might not know. The atmosphere is social and casual.
